Coach Vega is in her fourth year as the Head Basketball Coach at Villa Walsh. She has an extensive coaching career, starting with coaching in Hawaii; she has worked with various elite boys and girls programs around New Jersey and is a personal basketball trainer. She has been a certified International Association of Approved Basketball Officials (IAABO) official for almost 20 years. Additionally, Coach Vega is a full-time Home Office Director at AIG. She grew up and started playing basketball during middle school as the only girl on a boy’s team. Coach Vega played high school basketball at St. Joseph of the Palisades as a 4-year varsity starter, led her team to the state tournament twice, and received All Hudson County Honors. She played basketball at Bloomfield College in NJ, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Coach was a three-year captain, received All-Conference Honors, and led the NAIA Women’s Basketball Conference in assists. Coach Vega has completed her NFHS Level One and Level Two National Coach Certifications. |
