Biography
Since 2014, Mrs. Kimberly Cheifer has taught grades 10, 11, and 12, starting with Advanced Art, the fine art course, which later was accompanied by a more commercial course, Art & Design. AP 2-D Design was recently added for seniors to submit portfolios for AP credit. Upon her graduation at Ringling School of Art & Design in Florida, she pursued a career that led her into a career of commissioned residential and commercial fabric art, and later into graphic design. In 2008, she got her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education from TCNJ. Mrs. Cheifer’s quilted paintings have been shown and sold internationally since 1991. She is part of a United Nations commemorative exhibit in Geneva, Switzerland where her art toured Europe for three years. She worked many years at Films Media Group (now in NYC) as a graphic designer. Her teaching approach is Choice Based, where students learn how to work independently in preferred art mediums and/or subject matter. Art mediums and techniques range from drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, collage, mixed media, to printmaking, digital art, graphic design, perspective, fashion design, illustration, and photography.
