Spring Track Finishes Strong

The Villa Spring track team was going strong all season long, working hard in practice and competing with grit and lots of heart at all their meets. Five school records were broken during the spring track season:

The DMR, distance medley team of Ines Lemee (1200), Avery Poruczynski (400), Maggie Boler (800) and Blythe Dudley set a new record of 12:34.06.

The 4x1600m relay of Ines Lemee, Erin Lyons, Maggie Boler and Blythe Dudley set a new mark with 21:58.41.

Maggie Boler broke the 800m record with a time of 2:17.64 and the 400m record with a new mark of 1:00.50.

The high jump team of Amalia Hronides, Delaney Caughey and Jesse Kramer broke the high jump relay record with a new combined height of 14'4".


At the Morris County Championships, Blythe Dudley earned silver medals in the 1600 and 3200. Maggie Boler placed 5th in the 1600, Azariah Andrews placed 5th in the long jump (with a jump of 16’6”) and Jesse Kramer earned 6th place in the discus with a throw of 97’10”.

At the NJISAA “Prep B” Meet on May 20, 2024, Villa was the runner-up behind Morristown Beard.

The last big meet for all the Villa athletes was the Non-Public State Meet at Stockton University on June 8 & 9, 2024. The meet came down to the last event and Morristown Beard ended up winning by 3 points ahead of Villa. All season long the two teams competed against each other and pushed the limits, forcing outstanding performances on both sides.


Blythe Dudley captured the Non-Public B State Group Titles in the 1600m and the 3200m. As a dual State Champion, she decided to compete in the 3200m at the Meet of Champions, ran a fantastic race earning a medal with a 6th place finish

She improved her personal best by several seconds. Her time was 10:48.25. Outstanding!

At the State Meet the 3 high jumpers all jumped personal bests, with Delaney Caughey and Azariah Andrews both clearing the bar at 5' and Amalia Hronides taking it up another notch by making 5'2" her new personal best and placing as the runner-up in Non-Public B and therefore qualifying for the meet of Champions.

Other Villa athletes who qualified for the Meet of Champions were:  4x800 relay members: Ines Lemee, Erin Lyons, Avery Poruczynski, Martha Smart, 4x400 runners Avery Poruczynski, Blythe Dudley, Maggie Boler, Delaney Caughey, Maggie Boler for the 800m and Azariah Andrews for the long jump. Azariah was the only freshmen in all of New Jersey who qualifed for the Meet of Champions in the long jump. She jumped 16'10" in the State Group Meet.


Several team members competed in post season competitions: The DMR qualified for the New Balance Nationals at U Penn. With a slightly different line-up, (Clodagh Bateson filled in as a 400m runner) the squad ran a solid race and finished in 12:27.38 earning 31st place in a field of 52 teams from all over the country.

Maggie Boler also competed in the East Coast Championships at Ridge HS on June 21st and raced to a new personal best of 2:14.94 in the 800m.

The Villa track coaches are extremely proud of all their athletes and are looking forward to the 2024-2025 season!
